I intend to travel early on the morning of the 9th from the Twickenham area, I can offer three people a lift to the centre of London and back (probably). You could travel to W. London and leave your car for the trip into town.
If you have a car and are willing to offer transport to fellow puffins get in touch with me direct on the contact page, subject ‘9th December’ and I will try to match you with interested puffins and provide you with details of where to go in London.
If you would like to go but don’t have transport then list below whereabouts in general you want to travel from, maybe the nearest large town you can get to and I will try and put you in touch with someone in your area.
I will provide the puffin phone number to those going so we can arrange where to meet. More on that nearer the time.
Volunteer camera person wanted to help filming and think about what you might need, bring plenty of warm clothing, emergency rations, medical etc

I will likely be heading in from the Manchester area. I would drive but not sure of parking so may just book the train,
Where are the other drivers meeting up and when? Id prefer to drive if I’m honest and happy to also pick up anyone local or on route

I plan to park up somewhere around the bottom of the M1 and take the tube from there.-

For those not in London & using Transport for khanage on Sunday, this is their latest. I’m assuming that the route looks approved as they list the road closures. Also note the opposition route so you can avoid it…
Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 8 and 9 December, and the following week.
Most of the network will be open with services running as normal so you’ll be able to get wherever you need to go, but please check if any of the following affect you.
London Underground
Metropolitan lineOn Sunday 9 December, there will be no service between Aldgate and Wembley Park before 09:30 and after 20:30. This is due to track replacement work. For travel between Baker Street and Wembley Park, use the Jubilee line. For travel between Baker Street and Aldgate, use the Circle line or Hammersmith & City line.
See the latest status update on London Underground, including a map of closures.
London Overground
On Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 December, there will be an amended timetable between Gospel Oak and Barking. Trains will run every 15 to 30 minutes.
Due to a lack of available trains, a reduced weekend service will continue until further notice. We will continue to run a full timetable on the busier weekday service.
Supplementary buses will run every 30 minutes between Gospel Oak and Seven Sisters (for South Tottenham) and also between Walthamstow Central and Barking. Please use the Victoria line to connect between the two supplementary bus services.
Network Rail is carrying out work which will affect the following services:
Tonight, Thursday 6 December, there will be no service between Hackney Downs and Chingford after 22:30. Rail replacement buses will run.
On Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 December, there will be no service between Hackney Downs and Enfield Town / Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters). Use the Tube or local buses between Liverpool Street and Seven Sisters. Our Hopper fare lets you make multiple bus journeys per hour for free after your first payment. Rail replacement buses will run between Seven Sisters and Enfield Town/Cheshunt.
See an overview of planned track closures for the next six months.

Buses and roads
Bus and road users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination.
South west London – On Friday 7 December, planned strike action by Quality Line bus operators could mean little or no service on a small number of bus routes throughout south west London and Surrey. We are working hard to minimise disruption, but the following bus routes will be affected by the strike: •293, 404, 406, 413, 418, 463, 465, 467, 470, 633, K5, S1, S3 Baker Street – From 19:00 on Friday 7 until 15:00 on Sunday 9 December, Baker Street will be closed to traffic between Blandford Street and George Street. Use Baker Street tube station if you’re travelling through the area. The following bus routes will be diverted around the affected area: •Route 2, N2 towards West Norwood and Crystal Palace •Route 13 towards Victoria Bus station •Route 30 towards Marble Arch •Route 30 towards Hackney Wick •Routes 74, N74 towards Baker Street station •Route 113 towards Oxford Circus •Routes 139, N113 towards Waterloo, Trafalgar Square •Route 189 towards Marble Arch •Route 189 towards Brent Cross •Route 274 towards Lancaster Gate station Twickenham Stadium – Until 19:00 tonight, Thursday 6 December, large crowds are expected in the Twickenham area. This is because Twickenham Stadium is hosting the Varsity Oxford v Cambridge rugby matches, with the women’s match kicking off at 11:30 and the men’s at 15:00. Traffic levels are expected to increase in the area before and after the game. Roads likely to be affected are the A316 Chertsey Road, Rugby Road, all roads leading to Twickenham station and roads around the stadium.
Whitehall – From 09:45 until 13:00 on Saturday 8 December, Whitehall will be closed in both directions between Parliament Square and Horse Guards Avenue. This is due to a ceremonial wreath laying event.
Westminster – From 11:00 until 16:00 on Sunday 9 December, large crowds are expected. Between 12:15 and 12:30, a group will march from Park Lane to Whitehall, via Piccadilly, St James’s Street, Pall Mall and Cockspur Street. At the same time, a group will be marching from Millbank to Parliament Street via Abingdon Street and Parliament Square.
The following bus routes will be diverted around the affected areas: 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 15H, 16, 19, 22, 23, 24, 29, 36, 38, 52, 53, 55, 73, 74, 87, 88, 91, 94, 98, 113, 137, 139, 148, 159, 176, 185, 211, 390, 414, 453, 507, C1, C2, C10.
Westminster – From 17:00 until 21:00 on Tuesday 11 December, Parliament Square and its approaches and Whitehall will be closed. This is due to a demonstration taking place in Parliament Square.
Rotherhithe Tunnel – There are increased restrictions for goods vehicles at Rotherhithe Tunnel. Goods vehicles that exceed these restrictions will be unable to access the tunnel and redirected by our enforcement officers. The maximum vehicle height is 2 metres (or 6’6”) and the weight limit is 2 tonnes. The width restriction is 2 metres (or 6’6”). Use Tower Bridge or Blackwall Tunnel, both of which are outside the Congestion Charging zone. For more information, visit our Rotherhithe Tunnel page.

Due to train timings, I plan to go straight to The Dorchester for arrival before 11.30. I will keep an eye out for fellow puffinz – I will be wearing a discreet puffin pin badge. I’m leaving my daughter elsewhere for the duration in light of Pantifa threats. Good luck to all attending.
